How Do EFT Sessions Work?
During a session, which typically requires an hour, the client and I work together to determine the basis of a problem. In some cases there was a negative event that lead to a physical symptom. By 'tuning into' the emotions of the event, EFT can overcome the emotion and often the physical symptoms disappear.
There are techniques to relieve the emotions without having to suffer through the memory of a tragic event. In some cases a person is not able or does not wish to speak about the event and that is okay. All one needs to to is be 'tuned in' to their feelings.
Once the negative emotion, which may have occurred in childhood, is identified, the client and I acknowledge the emotion. We then work together doing a simple tapping procedure on meridian points mainly on the face and hands. The tapping releases trapped negative energy. It is common that there is more than one 'aspect' or painful memory related to an event and it may take repeated tapping to relieve all aspects.
Very often a person requires only a single session to achieve the relief they require; yet, for other more complex issues multiple sessions are necessary for optimum results. It is possible, but rare, that new aspects will appear after a session. If this occurs, the person may have sufficient knowledge of EFT after just one session that she/he can relieve the new aspect on their own using their knowledge of EFT.
Tapping almost always brings immediate relief. Often a person will sigh and drop their shoulders in an attitude of greater peace. Often they say they feel "lighter". Many amazing improvements in pain relief and performance gains have been demonstrated for a wide variety of issues. EFT often works when nothing else will.
